Merry Christmas!

We are getting a blizzard right now! We haven't had a white Christmas in several years. It messed up our plans to spend the evening with my family even though they are just a few miles down the street. The snow should be finished by morning, but there is a nice thick layer of sleet underneath (typical Oklahoma weather, tons of ice!)

I finished Ethan's Christmas stocking this morning at 1 am! I had my mom help stitch his name and a couple other items. I have spent countless hours putting together this stocking. I added more than what the kit calls for. I also made the stocking with velvet and lined with "silk" and topped with a cute fluffy cuff. I think it makes the stocking look much better than just stitched on the felt stocking it came with. Ethan's stocking is navy. I thought I would point that out since it looks kind of black in the picture. I didn't even get to touch Andrew's stocking. He's stuck with a plain one again this year. I have a whole year to work on that one...yippee! Think I'll put it off to the last minute? haha

I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning! We have Ethan's gifts all out. I can't wait to see what he thinks about them. I'm sure it will be an exciting day! I also want to mention that my cousin is in labor right now with her first baby! This will be my first great-cousin and it looks as though he will be a Christmas baby!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope it is a wonderful fun-filled day with your loved ones.

Holy Moly that is one fancy stocking! Awesome job! It puts my plain felt one to shame (especially since the pattern is still pinned to the material and didn't even get cut out! lol)
You are getting the blizzard that was supposed to hit us. They predicted it wrong- like they were a whole state off! :o)
Have a Merry Christmas!

We've done the same thing with our Christmas stockings. Ours are the kits that are supposed to be on felt, but the ones my grandmother made* came on velvet with fur trim. So, when my mom needed to make one for my husband (and now daughter), we had to find velvet and fur!

*In looking at the picture of your stocking, I realized that it's the same as my sister's!
