One Size Diaper Event Update
I have posted the last of the reviews and diapers for my One Size Event. The event will end March 5th. Sadly, I had a few sponsors that did not come through with their commitments so the event is a few diapers short. Thanks to all my sponsors who participated in my event. It has been such fun to review so many types of one size diapers. I hope that my readers also got some insight on the various one size diapers available and were able to purchase and win some as well!
Bummis Review & Giveaway
~~~THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED~~~
About Bummis!
Information from website.
Bummis began as the proverbial “kitchen table business”, started by 3 mothers who were using cloth diapers on their own babies and were inspired to create the products they themselves needed. That was way back in the 1980’s. It remained a home business until it grew too large to fit into any home! Since then, Bummis has grown and prospered while staying true to the vision that inspired its inception and the values that fuelled its growth. We believe that once parents see how easy it is to use cloth diapers, they will use them! So we focus on making it easy – through the products we design and distribute, the washing and using information we disseminate and the customer service we are so passionate about.
We also believe that the bottom line is not only about money and profit – but that it is also about the well being of our company and the people who work in it, our suppliers, our clients, and our community - both our local community and our industry. We believe that the way we do business matters, and that business can be an important vehicle for social change.
We live on a wonderful little cloth diapering planet here at Bummis that we and our employees have created. We have a lovely factory with lots of plants and natural light, and our offices are situated there as well. We also have two beautiful little stores in the Montreal area where we sell tons of cloth diapers, baby carriers and breastfeeding supplies. In addition we have a warehouse and a small staff in upstate NY, in the very scenic 1000 Islands. We all really enjoy working on our special little planet refuge at Bummis, and we have a great team - all of whom care passionately about what we do and how we do it.
We produce everything we can in our factory in Montreal, and we use North American components as much as is humanly possible. For the products and components unavailable to us here in North America, we work with our long-time, reputable partners in the UK and Pakistan. Everything – both manufactured here and imported - is tested for non-toxicity and also where relevant for good biodegradability standards.
As soon as we were able to do so, we switched our cloth diapers to GOTS certified cotton. Even though our prefolds by the dozen are now slightly more expensive, we feel that it is completely worth it – both for us and for consumers. Using organic cotton further reduces the carbon footprint of using cloth diapers, and it protects everyone in the chain – from grower to sewer to baby. It also protects the earth from the chemical overuse that threatens soil, air, water and biodiversity, and promotes a more sustainable way of life.
About Easy Fit!
Information from website.
The innovative design of this diaper features a non messy stuff – easier than a pocket system. No fiddling around – a swift stuff to get the liner in is all you need… And – no more losing liners in the laundry! This super thirsty liner is actually attached to the diaper, making the Easy Fit a remarkable all-in-one diaper with many of the benefits of a two piece system – fast drying and easy to clean.
Its innovative design provides a very versatile absorption – the attached liner can be folded to create up to 6 layers of absorption where your baby needs it. (Plus you can adjust for the absorption you need for heavy wetters and nighttime by adding extra liners). The liner consists of 2 layers. Ultra soft rayon made from bamboo fibres against baby’s tender skin actually absorbs 70% more quickly than cotton – on contact – no run-off leaking out the side of the diaper when baby pees! And an ultra absorbent layer of 100% polyester microfibre basically doubles the absorbance. Protective side guards of anti-wicking, soft brushed polyester prevent compression wetness. This is a diaper engineered for successful leak containment and total convenience! Its great fit was mentioned often by our testers – as well as generously sized Velcro type closures and fold-back laundry tabs that really stick. The Easy Fit is available in 2 sizes; one-size (8-35 lbs) that adjusts with snaps plus a remarkable Tini Fit size that will sweetly and effectively accommodate a tinier baby (5-12 lbs). 5 very trendy colours (Oeko-tex certified dyes!) plus white. Minimal packaging.All Tots Bots products are manufactured in their own factory in Glasgow, Scotland from environmentally friendly fabrics.The rayon from bamboo fibres is also Oeko-tex certified and the bamboo fibre is produced in a “closed loop” system which recycles water and chemical output to ensure sustainability. We really enjoy working with this company! You can be confident that the products they manufacture are ethically as well as sustainably produced.
I am excited to try yet another brand new cloth diaper! Bummis sent me a classic white Easy Fit to try out for my One Size Diaper Event. Before I received the diaper I knew nothing about it or even knew what the diaper looked like. I was amazed went I took it out of the package and noticed the insert was attached to the diaper. Truly genius! No more sorting through a stack of inserts to find the right one to stuff the diaper with.
This diaper feels really light and the insert is thin. At first I doubted that the liner alone would be enough and I wouldn't need a second insert. However, I was wrong. The rayon is a super-absorber and worked wonderful on Ethan. There was no need for a second insert with this diaper. The Easy Fit really has a great fit on Ethan and I am super impressed with the trim appearance as well. The wide aplix on the Easy Fit really holds the diaper secure.
Overall, I love the light weight feeling of the diaper and how it does a wonderful job. We haven't experienced any leaks or issues with this diaper.
Our Favorite Features of the Easy Fit!
- Light weight & very trim
- The attached insert!
- Super soft inside.
- Quick drying.
LolliDoo Review & Giveaway
~~~THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED~~~
About LolliDoo Diapers!
*Information from website*
Their use of EcoSpun® recycled fabric yields many rewards for the Earth, as well as the consumer. By using recycled PET, they are not only keeping disposable diapers out landfills, they are also keeping at least 6 plastic water bottles (for each diaper manufactured) out of the same landfill. The recycling of PET saves millions of barrels of oil each year and reduces virgin resource consumption. Additionally, once created, LolliDoo™ Diapers save precious resources in that they thrive in cold - water washing. A fast-drying diaper is beneficial for baby's skin. The Ecospun® fabric wicks moisture away from the skin toward the breathable outer layer, where air circulates to dry any accumulating moisture. Our tests of extreme diapering conditions (toddlers and overnight use) show that despite large quantities of urine, baby's bottom is as dry as it was when the diaper was first put on. As mothers, we tend to like that.
Not only is their product green, but LolliDoo™ also conducts every aspect of the business with minimal environmental impact -- from the materials, to the manufacturing, to the final distribution. They have sought to source ALL manufacturing components domestically, in line with the "buy local" philosophy. And, to finish it all off nicely, they are developing a recycling program that allows consumers to return the diaper at the end of useful life, where they'll feed it into existing fiber recycling.

Our LolliDoo Eco-Pocket Experience!
*click on photo to enlarge*
I was so excited when I came across LolliDoo Diapers. They are completely different than any other cloth diaper out there. Made from BPA free recycled plastic bottles these one sized diapers are truly the "Greenest" way you can go with cloth diapering! When the diaper is at the end of it's life, LolliDoo has a recycle bin just for their diapers. Now how awesome is that?
We were sent the LolliDoo Eco-Pocket in black. The first thing I noticed about the Eco-Pocket is how super soft the material is on both the inside and outside of the diaper. The metal snaps on this diaper are another first for me with using cloth diapers. The metal snaps are more secure and sturdy than the plastic ones. The material is super strong and there is also reinforcement material to insure the metal snaps will not tear out.
The LolliDoo Eco-Pocket has an internal elastic leg casing adjustment to vary the size of the diaper for your baby's growth. I am becoming very fond of this method of sizing adjustment and I found the Eco-Pocket elastic very simple to adjust.
This diaper is a little more poofy looking than other one size diapers because the type and thickness of the material. However, I really love the fact that the material is very breathable. The LolliDoo Eco-Pocket fits Ethan well and we have not experienced any leaks. I also fell in love with how fast this diaper dries!
I'm extremely impressed with the LolliDoo Eco-Pocket diaper! I think LolliDoo has risen a whole new set of standards of what materials cloth diapers should be made out of to make them a Greener item.

About the Sweet Pea One Size Diaper!

An all snap system in a 3 piece diaper! One size from birth until potty training! You will find on your one size diaper a total of 4 snaps on the front. This will give you a total of 4 different sizes for your diaper. This will allow the diaper to fit most babies from about 8 lbs- 35 lbs. An investment that will save you money throughout your diapering time! - The waterproof outer barrier keeps wetness contained.
- The soft micro fleece inner layer gently touches your baby's skin, pulling away moisture and keeping your baby rash-free, dry, and comfortable. The micro fleece is made of 100% Polyester and is custom-milled.

Our Sweet Pea One Size Diaper Experience!
Sweet Pea Diapers sent us their One Size in the beautiful Indigo color. Right away I was impressed with the quality of the material and construction for the economical price of the diaper! The One Size diaper has two snaps which is a must to prevent wing droop. The snaps fit nice and secure. As you can see in the photos, the Sweet Pea One Size diaper fits well on Ethan and there is still plenty of growing room both in the rise and width. These diapers would definitely fit to the 35 lbs and would work well on chunky babies with the long wings. I was still able to get a nice fit around the waist and the legs.

The diaper looks really trim on Ethan. The top stitching on the diaper gives it that extra clean & smooth look. Ethan has worn the Sweet Pea One Size diaper a few times now and we have not had any issues with leaks.

I love trying out brand new diapers! It's exciting to try out a new cloth diaper and be able to tell my readers all about it. I was ecstatic when Diaper My Baby wanted me to try out the brand new BabyKicks One Size Bumboo Pocket diaper for my One Size Diaper Event. This was my first time to even try a BabyKicks product.
During my One Size Event I was introduced to side snap diapers and bamboo material for the first time and quickly falling in love with both. The BabyKicks One Size Bumboo Pocket Diaper included both of these great features in their new diaper. When I first received the diaper I fell in love with the colored snaps on the diaper, very stylish and the color pops out on the classic white color! Also the outer waterproof layer is super soft along with the inner that is made of the organic cotton and bamboo blend. The quality of the diaper is superb. I can't leave out my experience with the inserts either! Nice and thick, the inserts are a buttery soft cotton/hemp blend that absorb very well.
**click on photo to enlarge**
The BabyKicks One Size Bumboo Pocket fits Ethan extremely well. When I first started using side snapping diapers a few weeks ago, it was a little difficult at first to get the hang of the snapping. Now they are quicker to put on and I really like how they fit on Ethan. No wing droop! This is really important the more mobile your child gets. With Ethan practically running everywhere he goes there are a few diapers we have that just don't work anymore because too much wing droop. Wing droop= horrible leaks! If you are looking into trying out a side snapping diaper you've got to try the BabyKicks One Size Bumboo Pocket. It has so many awesome features.
Overall we achieved a great fit and experienced no leaks! This is now one of our favorite diapers.

Tot Wraps Review & Giveaway
~~~THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED~~~
About Tot Wraps!
Information from website.
Hello, and welcome to Tot Wraps™. My name is Krysta and I am the owner of Tot Wraps™ and the designer of all the Tot Wraps™ products. I love creating and designing diapers. I made so many diapers for my own children that I gave away two stashes worth and I still have way too many diapers. So I figured I better start selling these if I am going to keep making them. I wanted to provide the best diaper to my customers, in terms of fit and ease of use. After many, many hours of pattern drafting and sample making, I stumbled upon Little Comet Tails patterns and decided to get licensed to sew and sell from this great pattern line.
Soon I was itching to create my own designs again and this time the pattern just seemed to draw itself. With a few frustrations along the way, most things just seemed to fall into place, and the Dream Diaper™ was launched. The Dream Diaper™ is the easiest way to cloth diaper without breaking the bank.
After the Dream Diaper™, came the Dream Cover™, Dream Trainer™, and the Transitions Trainer™. Tot Wraps™ now offers a complete line of original products to cover your child's bottom from birth through potty learning easily.
When Tot Wraps™ started, I handled all aspects of the business and sewed everything myself. With the popularity and growth of Tot Wraps™ products some help has been enlisted. Several work-at-home women help out with various aspects, from computer work to sewing. I still do quite a bit of the sewing, and sew at least part of every product sold.
Several work-at-home women help out with various aspects, from computer work to sewing. I still do quite a bit of the sewing, and sew at least part of every product sold.
I am a married, homeschooling, cloth diapering, work-at-home Mom to five children. My youngest child, a girl, was born October 2009. The oldest, another girl, was born May 2000. There are three boys in between those girls. Sewing and design has always been a part of my life. My first design, that I remember anyway, were dolls I made as Christmas presents when I was almost 6 years old. They looked just like any other stuffed doll, only small, and not sewn the neatest. They had hair, facial features, and clothing. I will have to post a picture of the one I inherited back from my Nanny (Grandma).
When my first child was born I had her in cloth diapers that I made and loved them, but when she outgrew them I succumbed to the lure of the "easy" disposable. Took me three more children to come to my senses and back to cloth diapering. At the time I still had two in diapers, so my second child is the only one who never wore cloth. At first I went back to cloth for the savings. Now the aesthetics, comfort, ease, and lack of leaks keeps me using cloth no matter the price. I get such satisfaction from making, washing, and putting my children in cloth diapers that I had to spread the word. I personally use and test every diaper and trainer I sell.
So, why Tot Wraps™ for a name? That is my Uncle's doing. He is one of those dry humor comedians and when I was brainstorming for a name he came up with Tot Under Wraps. I wanted a more "generic" name, so I shortened it. I figure as long as it is something soft and comforting that wraps around a child or that a child can wrap their arms around, then it is a Tot Wrap™.
About the Dream Diaper™, One-Size, Hybird All-in-One Diaper!
When I had my first child back in year 2000, I had a vision of my “dream diaper” in my head. I wanted an all-in-one style diaper that would fit all sizes, but what was available then—and even now—never fit my idea of the perfect diaper. Everything I saw had either complicated snap systems, bulky fold-overs, long drier times, were not all-in-ones, would really only fit an older medium-sized child, or had a pocket that always had to be stuffed. So, after a gentle prodding from my local store, I decided I should design my own perfect diaper.
After several months of pattern drafting and testing, the Dream Diaper™ was launched. Over the following year, the diaper went through several modifications based on customer feedback. It is now what I consider—and what I hope you consider—the perfect Dream Diaper™.
A wide fit-range in a single diaper—trim enough to not be bulky on a 8 lb newborn, yet large enough to fully cover a 35+ lb toddler. There’s no need to invest in multiple sizes of diapers, saving you both time and money.- Two rows of closure snaps for optimum leg and waist adjustment. To obtain a perfect fit, simply snap the closure tab in the leg row (bottom row) of snaps where the leg fits comfortably. Then snap the tab into the waist row of snaps where the waist fits comfortably. It doesn't matter if the same snap placement is used for both the leg and waist.
- Easy pull, stretch tabs have plenty of grabbing area and a gentle stretch. Making changes easy, and wearing comfortable.
- No complicated folds, flaps, snaps, or attachment parts.With only one pair of rise-adjustment snaps this diaper is easy for anyone to use. Long-lasting, easy to use snap closures mean no hook ’n’ loop diaper chains and the closures will last the life of the diaper.
- Gentle clear elastic around leg and waist openings plus the lack of top-stitching allows the diaper to comfortably and gently stretch to fit almost all diaper-wearing children and eliminate red marks.
- A colorful, waterproof polyester PUL outer that rolls in on the legs and completely edges the inner diaper for a leak-proof, one-piece diaper.
- A soft, absorbent inner and Zorb™ soaker holds up to 11 oz. of liquid, handling even the average toddler-sized mess without adding any doublers or inserts. The comfy cotton velour is drier to the touch than other absorbent fabrics yet still stays moist enough to let children know they are wet to aid in potty training. Some styles offer organic viscose of bamboo velour or stay-dray microfleece inners as an option. Maximum absorbency won't be reached until diaper is washed at least 5 times.
- Large interior pocket opening allows you to easily increase absorbency for naps, trips, heavy-wetters, or overnight use. Insert will agitate out in the wash, so there is no need to un-stuff before washing. The pocket opening also ensures thorough cleaning and shortens drier time to about an hour.
- Hourglass-shaped Dream Diaper™ Inserts are optional since you won’t need them for normal use. Folding on stitched fold line allows insert to fit smaller rise settings.These can be inserted with the larger end toward the front for boys, or toward the back for girls. For nights instead of stuffing the pocket, try laying the insert in the diaper white side up. The stay-dry fabric on the white side will wick moisture away from your child's bottom, keeping them dry and comfortable all night long.
- Thinner than a wet disposable so it fits well under any clothing, even jeans and Onsies.
Our Dream Diaper Experience!
It has truly been a pleasure to work with Krysta at Tot Wraps. She has much knowledge and experience with cloth diapers that she has created some great products. Then top it off with great customer service and I have really enjoyed working with this awesome WAHM cloth diaper maker!
Krysta sent me two diapers for review, her old version and her new version of the Dream Diaper, one size, hybrid all in one. I have only used one brand of AIO's before and I did not like them. I admit I was a little leery trying out another AIO diaper because of my negative experience. I had pretty much decided not to try any more AIO cloth diapers. I was pleasantly surprised that the Dream Diaper, one size, hybrid all in one was completely different than the AIO's I had tried before and had a totally positive experience with them!
The image shown in the Dream Diaper, one size hybrid all in one is for the new version of the diaper. I do want to show you a little about the original version because it does function very well. Plus Krysta is clearing these diapers out for the new version she is making. The largest difference in the older version is that there are one row of snaps and the snapping tabs are different. You can see this in my comparison photo. Also the newer version of the Dream Diaper, one size hybrid all in one is a slightly larger diaper overall than the older version.
I first received the older version of the Dream Diaper and instantly liked it because I knew it would fit Ethan well (it's nice when you just know by looking at a diaper if it will work for your child!). The diaper features elastic around the top and also in the back. This gets a nice snug fit all around the waist. We've had leak issues with some diapers because there is no elastic in these areas and Ethan's pants like to roll down into the diaper especially at night.
The inner layer is super soft and the best quality of fabric I have seen in any other brand of diaper I've used. I know this fabric will never pill up. The soaker that is sewn into the diaper is just the right thickness. The previous AIO's I have used the soakers were way too thick and they diapers never got really clean. The soaker sewn into the Dream Diaper is very absorbent, but not so thick that the diaper can't get completely clean in the wash. The pocket opening in the back of the diaper allows you to add another insert. Even though Ethan is usually a heavy wetter, I only add the extra soaker if the diaper is being used at nighttime. This AIO also dries very quick! No more extra drying time just for your AIO diapers.
The Dream Diaper one size, hybrid all in one fits like a bikini cut which is wonderful for older babies that are mobile. A bikini cut keeps the bulk away from the waist so they are comfortable and can move freely. Ethan has worn both version of the diaper several times now and I really like both. We have not had any leak issues whatsoever. Although, I really do like the changes Krysta has incorporated with the new version. The two rows of snaps make it a more secure and slide free fit for active babies. The stretch tabs are a great addition as well.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Dream Diaper one size, hybrid all in one by Tot Wraps. Superb quality of materials and professional construction with the courteous customer service to boot!
- Great quality of inner layer material that is velvety soft!
- Front and back elastics that make a tight fit with no gaps.
- An AIO that you really don't need to add another insert to.
- A FAST drying AIO.
- Two row snaps prevent any wing drooping.
Nifty Nappy Review & Giveaway
~~~THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED~~~
About Nifty Nappy!
Information from website
I started using cloth diapers with my first baby. These were a simple fitteds made with flannel and a bulky soaker sewn inside. They had velcro closures and we used those nasty plastic pants. I used these for my first two, but my second child had really sensitive skin. At one point when she was about 9 months old she got a really bad rash and we just couldn’t clear it up. Our Dr. finally suggested that we go back to disposables at least until the rash cleared up. We did this and then when we started to try to use our cloth again we had rash immediately. We got rid of our cloth and our little boy, #3, was all disposables. After I had started with #4 I met a gal that had a pocket diaper that I figured I could make up, so I spent some $$ and got a snap press and material and made me some diapers. I loved them. They had PUL and we stuffed them with microfiber cloths. They worked pretty well and we had some rashes, but usually if I put some stuff on it it would clear up. I used these same diapers for #5 too. With #6 on the way I was worried about my diapers because they were starting to leak a little around the legs. (I now know that this is because of the method of sewing and I have fixed that!) I went looking for something more absorbent. I found WOOL!!!! Whoo-hoo! I love wool.
Then with the freedom of wool I moved on to better fabrics too. I discovered Organic Hemp and Bamboo. They are wonderful and absorbent. They are antibacterial and anti-microbial. It is also a huge plus that they are organic. Also I do have certificates to show that these are organic that I can produce if anyone feels they need to see these.
After I got the good fabrics I started looking into diaper shapes. I wanted to make the best diaper possible with the expensive fabrics I had just bought. I stayed with the basic shape of before, but I changed where the snaps land. I went from side snaps to front snaps. It makes it easier to fit more sizes and also the flaps don’t need to be tucked down in the diaper, which they did with the side snaps. I liked the shape of my diaper. I liked how it tucks under the babies tummy and is a trim fit without a bulge in the front. It doesn’t have a saggy bum either. I really like the trim fit so it looks natural.
So keeping the shape and changing where the snaps land, I looked into changing the way that I sewed them up. From the PUL pockets that I had made and used I learned that if you make all the seams inside the diaper then the edges will wick the moisture from the inside to the outside of the diaper. I figured if I serged all the edges then there would be nothing to pull the moisture out. The elastic is enclosed so that there is no irritation for the baby’s legs. There is also elastic in the back to help with fitting for smaller babies. Along with a folding technique, they are now a fabulous one size diaper!

How does Wool Work?
Wool is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, which helps it not to retain odors and a natural fire retardant. It can absorb up to 40% of its weight in liquid and it allows the body to breathe. These qualities of wool make it an excellent choice for a natural and oh so comfy diaper cover. Cost savings $$$ - PANTS and DIAPER COVER in one! Wool has the wonderful ability to regulate body temperature, it will keep your child warm in winter and cool in summer. Making it the perfect choice for diaper covers any time of the year. Used for generations! IMPORTANT: Wool is only as effective as the amount of absorption you have underneath the cover. The wool needs time to "react" or time to be able to absorb and breathe. If not enough absorption is used then cover will not work as well and you will feel wetness. I use wool for my children and just love using a natural product that has all of these amazing qualities - my children totally enjoy using wool covers, so much more comfy than any other kind of cover - your babies will thank you! You must wash/re-lanolize your cover every few weeks, (or when poo'd on) depending on use. Please allow to air dry between uses.
About the Nifty Nappy One Size Woolie Wraps!
This is a Woolie Wrap. It is a wool diaper cover that you snap on instead of pull up. They are convenient for smaller babies. Also they will fit a wider range of babies. Paired with a Nifty Nappy they are practically bullet proof and leave the baby’s bum well ventilated!
The outside layer of my Woolie Wraps are made from upcycled Wool sweaters I find at thrift stores. I am very picky about my wool and you won’t find any that are less than 80% wool with only natural fibers. They are also very soft. If I wouldn’t wear it then the baby shouldn’t be wearing it!I am excited to introduce an improvement to the Woolie Wrap -I know hard to imagine it could get better right? Well they can! I am now making the inside layer with 100% wool interlock. This is very absorbent and soft, and as an added bonus the snaps will be more stable.
Since I make my wool covers from thrift store sweaters I can’t list Fabric Selections. If you will pick a gender though, I will make an appropriate cover for you.

I was fascinated when I ran across Nifty Nappy products. Vilate, owner of Nifty Nappy, has a great selection of diapers, covers and wraps made with various materials. WAHM products are wonderful because they are like having custom diapers made just for your baby.I was sent a gorgeous red Woolie Wrap for Ethan to try out. I was really happy to get to try out a Woolie Wrap since we've been having some leaking issues at night off and on now that Ethan is sleeping through the night (yes, finally!). Even from using double inserts we still have leaking issues because it just can't hold it all. Nothing is more frustrating that waking up to a wet spot in the bed and having to wash sheets all the time.
First off, I love the red color and the fact that is is made from an upcycled wool sweater. Vilate has done such a professional job at turning a sweater into a great looking wrap. The Woolie Wrap is incredibly soft and not scratchy at all. I paired up the Woolie Wrap with a couple different brands of fitted diapers I have for nighttime use. The Woolie Wrap fits great on Ethan around his waist and legs. I'm pleased to say we haven't had any issues with leaks! Sometimes the wrap feels slightly damp on the inside when I take it off, but I just hang it up to dry and all the moisture and smell vanishes during the day. Wool is really amazing!
I highly suggest all cloth diaper parents to try out wool whether it is the Wrap, Soakers or Knickers. Don't let the excuse of leaks keep you from cloth diapering or continue to cloth diaper!
