Ugh, rotavirus!!

For those of you whose kids have had the rotavirus you can understand where I've been all week! Hubby and I have had a touch of stomach upset too although nothing a little meds didn't help, but since it's not a full blown stomach virus we are sure it's from Ethan. Supposedly an adult is not supposed to get it, but I'm not so sure about it. I *think* we are now on the downside of it. Ethan hasn't had a bad diaper since this morning so we are hoping that's a good sign. He still isn't eating anything, but he is drinking lots of fluids which is the most important part. He now has a little fluid on his ear, but it hasn't turned into an ear infection. He's very prone to ear infections. Last thing he needs is to be on an antibiotic after this illness :-( More than likely we will be taking turns staying home with Ethan while we go to our family get togethers.

Ethan will be getting major doses of probiotics, vitamin C & D after this is over!

I hope everyone is well in your house and that you have a Merry Christmas!

When my daughter was only 3 weeks old she got the Rota virus and was hospitalized for a week (initially they didn't know what was going on because she had a high fever and was projectile vomiting - it was terrible)... while I was in the hospital my hubby was at home with our 15 month old daughter who also got it too - my husband had to deal with her all by himself (the vomiting and never ending diarrhea)! So I definitely feel your pain!

I know just how you feel. When my daughter was 11 months old she got rota, it was awful. My husband and I both got it, too and we were all miserable for about a week. That was the last time we ever went to the indoor mall playground!
