Newman's Own Organics Review & Giveaway

~~~THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED~~~
Organic snacking is a must in our household and sometimes we need something different other than our homemade snacks. Newman's Own Organics have been offering a line of certified organic foods since 1993. Their line of foods range from pretzels to organic mints & chocolate as well as organic pet food for your furry friends. You will not find hydrogenated oils in any of the Newman's Own Organics foods, but you will find all their products are made with healthy organic ingredients.
I was sent a generously large variety of Newman's Own Organics products to review. Ethan was eying the food as I was taking it out. It so happened he just got up from his afternoon nap and of course needed a snack ;-) This was also my first time eating processed foods made with sugar since starting to eat healthy, but I was ready for a treat!
We received 3 packages of Newman-O's, Ginger 'N Creme,  Peanut Butter, and Chocolate, which are healthy creme filling sandwhich cookies. These contain no hydrogenated oils in them and they taste so good! Surprisingly the Ginger 'N Creme was my favorite flavor. I was expecting a strong ginger flavor, but they were not. I like ginger, but I also don't care for it too strong. I have bought a couple of packages of these on our recent travel trips. They travel well even during the summer.
Next, we tried out 2 different types of Champion Chip Cookies, Double Chocolate Mint Chip and Chocolate Chip flavors. As well as the Arrowroot Alphabet Cookies. These cookies are super delicious and bite sized, perfect for little toddler hands. Organic Palm Fruit Oil is used to make these cookies which is a much healthier alternative and also cholesterol and trans-fat free. My favorite flavor was the Double Chocolate Mint Chip cookies because I love anything with mint and chocolate combined. Ethan loved them all as well. One day we took some of his Alphabet Cookies to church with us (you know how it is moms, keep their mouths full and they act good in church lol). As my husband was giving him his cookies he was saying what letter was on them! I was shocked because I had been working with him for weeks showing him letters and trying to get them to repeat them after me and would not. On his own he decides to say his letters! He still doesn't want to repeat many letters for me so maybe I need to buy another bag of Alphabet Cookies ;-)
We LOVE pretzels both crunchy and soft. I've been making my own whole wheat soft pretzels lately, but nothing beats a crunchy pretzel. Newman's Own Organics has a huge selection of pretzels made with a variety types of flours. Hands down my favorite are the Pretzel Nuggets. They are thicker therefore crunchier than most other pretzels. They are a little bit too hard for Ethan to eat, but I love them for myself! My local Whole Foods store does not carry the Pretzel Nuggets so I've had to purchase them at the other health food store in town. My husband really likes the Newman's Own Organics Pretzels as well. I have tried a few other organic pretzel brands and they are not near as good as Newman's Own Organics. I will always continue to buy the Newman's Own Organics brand!
Dried fruit is the perfect snack and also great to add to our oatmeal and chewy granola bars. Newman's Own Organics makes several types of dried fruits and they do not contain sulfites! I hope you don't eat dried fruit with sulfites! We were sent the Apricots, Raisins, Cranberries and the Berry Blend. All of these are wonderful and it has been a great travel snack as well for trips and short errands into town.
The Newman's Own Organics Soy Crisps are a great toddler snack. I keep these in Ethan's diaper bag as they don't tend to get stale. I can also feed these to him in the car and don't have to worry about him choking on something. The Cinnamon Sugar Soy Crisps are my favorite flavor although I think Ethan likes them both equally ;-) The Soy Crisps are made from certified  organic soy which is extremely important. Soy and corn are two of the largest GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) as well as the most pesticide crops. Anything certified organic can not be a GMO and has to be pesticide free.
We were also sent 2 packages of Hermits and Fig Newmans. Hermits are a rich, chewy, spicy cookie sweetened with molasses. The Hermits are not overly sweet, but they are so rich one, or possibly 2 is filling and satisfying. They are different from a typical cookie, but Ethan and I both loved these. The Fig Newmans are out of this world. Even my husband loves these! (not that my husbands tastes have any credibility lol). This is another Newman's Own Organics product that I have purchased a couple of times as well especially for our travel trips. I also want to mention that the Fig Newmans have a Wheat Free/Dairy Free version for any of you who may have these sensitives.
Last, but certainly not least, we got to try out a variety of chocolates and mints! Newman's Own Organics Chocolate Bars are made with at least 95% certified organic ingredients. These chocolate bars knocked my socks off. They are so yummy! I'm a dark chocolate girl, so I especially enjoyed the darker blends. The Newman's Own Organics Mints have been a wonderful addition to my purse! I usually keep gum in my purse, but since I started eating healthy 5 months ago I eliminated the usage of artificial flavored chewing gums. These organic mints are a great replacement and are very tasty and refreshing.
We have really enjoyed getting to try out all of these fabulous Newman's Own Organics products! There are a few of the products I am especially hooked on now. I am excited because I saw on Newman's Own Organics Facebook page that they have new products coming out, Licorice Twists! I happened to be in Whole Foods the next day and checked just to see if they were out yet, but no, they aren't there yet. I'll be keeping my eye out on these.
