Body After Baby

MamaNotes

I missed the deadline to the last Body After Baby. I've been working on loosing a few pounds during December. Do you know how hard it is to loose weight during the holidays?? Every where you turn there is a party or someone is bringing you baked goods! I admit, I did pretty well through most of it. I threw away a bunch of goodies that was given to me, but then again I had my moments I wasn't so good....

Like Samantha I hope to be pregnant again sometime in 2010 and I want to loose more weight before I gain again! So this is really "Body Before Baby" for me :-)

Goals
  • Loose another 35 pounds (although I would be happy with 25). I have lost 23 lbs since March, but I'm still 10 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight.
  • Strengthen my core and lower back. I had severe low back pain from 4 months pregnancy to 6 months Post Partum. I don't want to do that again!
Plan
  • I have done Weight Watchers at home off and on, but for some reason I can not get myself totally dedicated back into the swing of measuring, counting, etc. So Since Sunday of this week I went back on a different WOE (way of eating) called Somersizing. It's a food combining plan that really works. Basically you are allowed to have certain whole grains, proteins and fats, but only with certain meals. Excluded items from your diet are sugar and white flour to name the big ones. I have done both this and the Atkins diet before and this one is much easier and simpler. There is no counting, you eat as much as you want. This is difficult for me at times since I have a big sweet tooth. After a week your cravings really diminish for sugar. I want to stick with this as long as possible.
  • I have several workout DVDs and I have a treadmill as well. I plan on working out with DVDs (mainly my 30 Day Shred) 4 days a week. I can always re-evaluate this again if I need to add more.
  • Do core strengthening exercises daily.

Wordless Wednesday- 2009 Blizzard

I wanted to share a picture of our huge snow drift we woke up to on Christmas morning! I put text where the top of it was so you can see it better. It's going to take several days for it to melt especially since it's still really cold.

Our 2009 Christmas

Despite having a blizzard on Christmas Eve and having all the various plans rescheduled, we still had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve we were supposed to go to my parents house for a yummy dinner, but the weather was just too bad. So we stayed home and I made a homemade canadian bacon pizza for us. I finished Ethan's stocking at 1 am that morning so I barely had it made in enough time!

Christmas Eve I set out Ethan's gifts after we put him to bed. We got him a motorized "four wheeler", 2 big tonka trucks and a lawn mower. The lawn mower was to try to encourage him to walk. He loves walking on his knees all the time and he's really fast at it. ha!

Christmas morning we opened our gifts from each other. Ethan was really slow warming up to his gifts. We showed him his lawn mower first.

Next was the trucks.

Then his four wheeler. There is a button he has to press to make it go and he still hasn't really figured it out yet. I'm sure as soon as he does he'll be riding it all over the house :-)

Mid morning we went to my parents house. The roads were pretty bad and my grandparents were unable to make it out of their addition. We opened gifts without them.

Giving his new Christmas dog a kiss (bite on the nose).

Ethan got a lot of toys, including 3 big toys! He loves his new radio flyer wagon. I'm ready for it to warm up so we can use it outside.

Here we are with my brother, nephew and sister.

Saturday morning and afternoon we spent with my husband's family. I was happy Ethan didn't get any toys, he got all clothes! And he needs it too. He's quickly outgrowing all his 18 month sized clothes, especially the pants!

Saturday evening we went to my grandparents to open gifts.
Walking on his knees :-) He literally wore holes through his pants that day!

Another big toy! Lets just say our living room is VERY full now!

Ahh, Mr. Sweet Tooth. He found his uncle's Godiva chocolate bars and he was pretty excited about it.

Christmas night we came home and took all the decorations down and packed them away! I'm ready to clean and de-junk my house so I was ready for it to come down. I look forward to next Christmas already because I know Ethan will understand Christmas a little better and will be excited.

Merry Christmas!

We are getting a blizzard right now! We haven't had a white Christmas in several years. It messed up our plans to spend the evening with my family even though they are just a few miles down the street. The snow should be finished by morning, but there is a nice thick layer of sleet underneath (typical Oklahoma weather, tons of ice!)

I finished Ethan's Christmas stocking this morning at 1 am! I had my mom help stitch his name and a couple other items. I have spent countless hours putting together this stocking. I added more than what the kit calls for. I also made the stocking with velvet and lined with "silk" and topped with a cute fluffy cuff. I think it makes the stocking look much better than just stitched on the felt stocking it came with. Ethan's stocking is navy. I thought I would point that out since it looks kind of black in the picture. I didn't even get to touch Andrew's stocking. He's stuck with a plain one again this year. I have a whole year to work on that one...yippee! Think I'll put it off to the last minute? haha

I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning! We have Ethan's gifts all out. I can't wait to see what he thinks about them. I'm sure it will be an exciting day! I also want to mention that my cousin is in labor right now with her first baby! This will be my first great-cousin and it looks as though he will be a Christmas baby!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope it is a wonderful fun-filled day with your loved ones.

One Size Cloth Diaper Event

Announcing my big event!
I am very excited to announce my next event starting January 1st, the One Size Cloth Diaper Event. I am featuring 22 different brands of one sized cloth diapers.

When I started cloth diapering I used sized cloth diapers. I was skeptical of one sized diapers wondering if they would really fit well and function correctly. When Ethan was 4 months old and was outgrowing his small sized diapers I decided to try some one sized diapers. I was surprised that they fit great and I never had any leak issues. I've been hooked on one size diapers ever since!

One size diapers are a more "green" and economical way to cloth diapering. Since most one size diapers fit from 8 to 35 pounds you will be spending much less money building a cloth diaper stash for your little one. Knowing I would spend less money buying one size diapers instead of sized diapers for my stash was another pro to cloth diapering with them.

Recently I started researching all the one sized diapers. I was amazed how many are available! My One Size Cloth Diaper Event features the large majority of the diapers. I'm happy to be sharing with my readers how I like each diaper and the features I love the most about each one. There are many different features from brand to brand. I want to help educate those who do cloth diaper (and those who don't!) about the different brands of one size diapers so you can be confident in buying which type of one size diaper you think you would enjoy using.

I have an awesome group of sponsors for my event! I'm super excited about all of the diapers I will be featuring. I even have a one size cloth diaper pattern and several cute WAHM diapers I know you will absolutely go nuts over! Several of the diapers are BRAND NEW, so new in fact that they aren't even available for purchase yet.

Read below the list of sponsors to find out how to earn extra entries!
