Rose Pictures

Here are some new pictures of my roses, they are really starting to look good, foliage and blooms. I haven't been spraying them either, shocker. I should start doing that since they are looking so good, if I want them to continue doing well.

The Pink roses really look coral next to the pink flowers in the basket and clashes :-( I'll have to remember to pick a different color for the basket next year.

The roses by the pool deck aren't blooming right now. I need to prune, fertilize and spray them. Once they do I'll share picture of them because they are very pretty!

This is the crape myrtle I got. If you remember I was holding out for a cotton candy color, but they are rare. I thought this one might be ok, the tag said it is light pink, but I disagree. It may look like it from the picture, but believe me it's not. My husband even called it purple. Next to the hot pink roses it does have a purple hue. Oh well, one day I'll find my cotton candy crape myrtle.

Show us your life- Wedding Dress

This week at Kelly's Korner is the wedding dress, so exciting!

We got married 5 years ago, and all our pictures were on film. The pictures aren't very clear because they are pictures of a picture because I don't have a scanner :-( I just contacted my photographer today to see if they still have the negatives (my receipt says they keep them for 5 years) and how much it may cost to purchase them. Now just waiting to hear back from them!

My wedding dress is the very first one I tried on. Of course I tried on several more at a few more bridal shops, but the first one was the perfect one for me. This gown is made by Audrey Hart and is made of shantung. The veil has little jewels scattered on it.

This was one of my bridal shots, it shows good detail of the top.

Picture of the front. My mom trying to get the wrinkles out with the hair dryer. Thank goodness they came out fairly well since it was only in the bag for the trip from the house to the mansion where we got married. Still, that is one thing a bride ALWAYS needs to buy/rent/borrow/whatever... a STEAMER!!! This isn't a very flattering picture, I'm eating and talking at the same time haha. This is the best picture I could find that shows good detail of the back top. You can also see the veil.

I couldn't find a picture of just a view of the back of the dress with the train. I'm sure the photographer got a shot, but I don't have the picture, very sad! I did find a couple of pictures with it bustled.
Next week is the wedding party and flowers!

SmartiPants Cloth Diaper Review

There is a new one-size diaper SmartiPants. This new one-size diaper has many, many great features. I won't list all of them here, check out their website.

The main thing that interested me into buying SmartiPants was the cost. They are cheaper than the typical one-size diaper. I bought the 3 pack for $36.95. Most one size diapers start around $18 a piece.

I'm really impressed with the construction and materials of the diaper, the best I have had in a diaper so far! The insert is nice and fluffy and does a great job soaking up a lot.

The Smartipants diaper really has a nice fit. I like how it is wider in the bottom than my Haute Pocket one size diapers, it's not much wider, but it fits better on my baby.

The only thing I am disappointed is in the rise. They are smaller than my Haute Pockets (the only one size diaper I have to compare it to). Here is a picture of my baby in the Smartipants (the white diaper) on the largest setting and in the Haute Pocket(blue diaper) on the medium setting(meaning it can go up one more size).

Here are additional pictures to show you how the diaper fits.

I should mention that my baby is just one week shy of 11 months old and is 30 3/4" and about 18 pounds. I seriously doubt the SmartiPants are going to last him up to 35 pounds according to their website. However, for babies that are more average this diaper should last you longer than it would for my baby.

Since I won't be able to use SmartiPants as long as I can my Huate Pockets, I don't think it will be a good deal after all :-( I'm disappointed in that because I love everything else about the diaper!! SmartiPants can you please make them longer in the rise??

Product Recommendation- Baby Food

I have been on the hunt lately to find a portable snack for my Baby who is 10 months old. Something that doesn't have a lot of added sugar, coloring and preservatives. I am not a complete organic freak or anything like that, I do however, want to limit a lot of the sugar and preservatives at this time. It's difficult to find snack products without making a trip to the health food store.

A few weeks ago I came across Target's new Brand "up & up" snacks. I found these freeze dried strawberry and banana snacks. Nothing added to them, just freeze dried fruit! Baby really likes them. The pieces are pretty small and manageable for him to eat although the banana pieces seem to be a little more chewy than the strawberry. Look closely at all of the "up & up" snacks, because I believe the first bag I picked up (blueberries) had a lot of added stuff to it.

Last week I found some puffs from Happy Baby at BabiesRus. See the ad below, they really are a great product! And they are endorsed by Dr. Sears! (I must say I did snatch them up pretty quickly after reading that lol). Inside the top lid there was a $1 off coupon. It made it $2 for each container. Unfortunately the coupon expired June 30th (the day I was there). BabiesRUs has them on sale for 2 for $5 this week. When I went back to see if they had containers with newer coupons it was for the frozen meals (I think it was buy one get one).

Happy Baby has many more products I knew nothing about until I checked out their website. Including cereals and frozen baby foods with DHA. Wow, I'm impressed! I'll have to check some of our local stores to see if they carry them!
